About this class

This 12-week course will give a broad understanding of sports and fitness testing, as well as personal life skills.

You will learn how to develop and accomplish goals, practice interview techniques, and assess your strength and abilities. Through practice and performance review, you will advance your skills in various team or individual sports.

Along with learning about health evaluations, you will also take fitness tests used by athletes and public service workers.

This 12-week course will give a broad understanding of sports and fitness testing, as well as personal life skills.

You will learn how to develop and accomplish goals, practice interview techniques, and assess your strength and abilities. Through practice and performance review, you will advance your skills in various team or individual sports.

This qualification requires you to complete 3 units allowing you to develop your sports skills and your personal life skills, including:

  • Unit 1 – personal progression plan
  • Unit 2 – playing sports
  • Unit 3 – fitness testing in public services

Various start dates throughout the year.

No prior knowledge of sports is required.

The course is aimed at people who do not have English as a first language. You should have studied or be studying English at Entry 3 or Level 1.

If you are studying Entry 2, you need to talk with the course tutor. This conversation is to make sure you will understand the language used during the course.

All applicants will be invited to speak with the course tutor to check this is the correct course for you.

Progression: After successfully completing this 12-week course, you can apply for another sports-related course in the main area of college.

Assessment Methods: All assessments are completed on the computer or through practical-based tests.
