ESOL Pre-Entry First Steps in English
About this class
This is an English reading and writing course for speakers of other languages (ESOL) who are new arrivals to the UK. The course aims to help them acquire basic communication skills to help them settle into their new community. Open to learners who are Pre-Entry/Entry level, learners will focus on basic functional and practical skills that they may encounter in their first few weeks such as being able to give personal information; find their way around the community; shopping, and health. The focus is primarily on speaking and listening skills. As well as learning the core vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking and listening skills, by working independently and in small groups with your tutor, you will also develop wider skills such as: ● Problem solving ● Team working ● Communication skills ● Study skills. ● Use Google maps to navigate area.
