About this class
We offer this course from Pre Entry level up to Level 1. There is an exam at the end of each qualification; Speaking and Listening, Reading, Writing. Each qualification takes 12 weeks. This means that it takes a year to complete a full level of ESOL. This is a part-time course and you will usually attend 2 classes a week. At the end of the course, you will gain a recognised Certificate in ESOL Skills for Life with City & Guilds. You will be invited to an interview to talk to the teachers to check that this is the right course for you. Calderdale College
Calderdale College is a Further Education College in Halifax. We are passionate about giving everybody the opportunity to gain basic skills to either study further, secure an apprenticeship or find a job. Aimed at students who don’t speak English as their first language our ESOL courses give you the skills you need to succeed. Employers look for basic English skills and this course is your first step into a brighter future. We will help you decide your next steps and make sure you have everything you need to succeed. We work with local community projects such as Calderdale Valley of Sanctuary whose aim is to bring together organisations across Calderdale to create a network of places that asylum seekers and refugees know to be welcoming and understanding of their situation.
