About this class
This course offers a friendly and supportive introduction to learning English for everyday life in the UK. Through simple speaking, listening and practical activities, you will begin to build confidence using English in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The course focuses on everyday situations such as greetings, sharing information, shopping and getting around your local community, while helping you prepare for further ESOL learning.

Swarthmore Education Centre
Swarthmore seeks to inspire lives through friendly learning within a commitment to equality of opportunity Our main aim is to encourage people who want to learn but might not feel comfortable in more formal educational institutions. We work on a friendly, human scale, offering a confidential counselling service, on-site childcare and learning support. Many volunteers currently support the Centre’s work and we welcome their contributions of time and energy.
