Details
None Accredited Duration-1 session per week for 4 weeks 3 hours per session Held throughout the year at Crosland Moor CLC, at ‘outreach’ centres and online.
This course is designed to provide the learner with an understanding of basic nutrition and what a healthy balanced diet should be.
Learn about:
- What good nutrition is and why we need good nutrition to keep healthy and active.
- The relationship between healthy foods and fluids and the human body.
- The role of carbohydrates, fibre, protein, vitamins & minerals and fats play in the human body.
- Using the Eat well Guide to understand what foods make a balanced diet.
- Create an awareness of the changing requirements of a healthy diet through different life stages.
On completion of the course, learners will receive shopping vouchers.

Crosland Moor Community Learning Centre
We provide a crucial learning and skills service within a very active Community Centre. We attract learners from many different cultures and backgrounds, reflecting the different and diverse cultures within our community. All courses are fully funded for Kirklees residents working less than 16 hours per week.
